Thank you, Aimee. I'm glad this piece resonated with you. I'd love to hear more about your own 'step out of the rest of your life' place if you're happy to share?
Gabriela (which is also my granddaughter's name, same spelling ❤️), I find calm and respite on the shores of Lake Superior. I'm fortunate to have a place in the upper peninsula of Michigan, a spot that is still relatively untouched by development. The landscape is rugged. The lake is completely unpredictable, which I love. Placid one day, it can rage with 20-ft swells the next. As I drive North to get there, the road narrows and the trees growth thick. My breathing slows and my blood pressure drops. Quiet pervades. For me, it's a magical place.
This sounds like such a gorgeous spot, Aimee! I too am a fan of lakes so your words particularly caught my imagination. I’m so glad that it’s relatively untouched still as well.
Such a beautiful piece! And I love the notion of a 'step out of the rest of your life’ place. I have one of those too. ❤️

Oh, wow, when can I come and visit? ;-)

Visit anytime, any season. In the winter, the area averages 300 in of snow, so bring your snowshoes! 🤣
You are so kind, Aimee. And, I can’t believe how much snow you get. My goodness!
