I think this is what I needed to listen/watch today! I sat on a bench at the park this morning, looking at the river. I've been watching your talks and reading the emails about the nature writing prize and thinking about what I want to write, and if I'm going to submit anything this year. And also being somewhat frustrated and not really connecting with nature in the way that all these people seem to do in your talks and the writings you post. So this morning, was an effort to sit with 'nature' and see what happens. And I started writing some things, some interesting insights here and there, and then, truthfully as a form of procrastination, I decided to watch this video, since I missed it live, and in reading what you wrote beforehand and then listening to the video, I think what struck me, was that there are so many opportunities to be with and listen to nature. There is no one way, no right way. There are no expectations. I might not ever have some big epiphany-- but is that the point? Anyway, this might just be a big run-on comment, that makes no sense to anyone but myself! But all I wanted to say, is that I really appreciated this one (I find something to appreciate about all of them) but this seemed to dovetail nicely, in perhaps a way I'm failing to adequately explain in words, with my thoughts and words from this morning. So I'll leave it there.

I love this share, Bridgitte! What’s interesting to me is your dedication. In order to be frustrated and see that you’re not connecting with nature in the ways others do, you have be noticing, which ironically is the first step towards connection! To me this is the beginning of how we come to nature - not knowing, comparing, wondering, noticing. From this place, I can see something important came to you. I love how you were able to understand there are many opportunities to be with and listen to nature. You are absolutely spot on when you say there’s no one way, no right way. To me, this is the kind of experience that could make a powerful entry!
